Digital change pulses through a health insurance organization
Domain7 partnered with Pacific Blue Cross with the overall goal of reducing the amount of paper that was consumed through the sheer number of member claims processed and the analogue workflows within the organization.
This became the perfect opportunity for digital transformation within the organization as well as embracing a user-focused digital experience for their members.
Through close collaboration, essential knowledge of the business needs and regulations, along with an understanding of the various different users needs, we uncovered many areas in which digital transformation could have a much larger impact beyond just reducing paper.
With service design sessions and co-creation workshops, we developed a multi-phased roadmap for transformation across many aspects of their business.
This project is a brilliant example of how digital transformation can have a positive ripple effect throughout an organization based on a simple overarching objective.

Research
This particular part of the wider project was focused around introducing a new product tailored towards microbusinesses and solopreneurs. Partnering with Vancity, this comprehensive health benefit product was initially offered exclusively to its members with an eye to expand it across other organizations as the product evolved.
The phased roadmap that we developed allowed for an alpha Proof of Concept to be quickly rolled out as an MVP. Then, over time more features were developed to enhance end-to-end automation and improve the user experience for both the organizations employees and their members.
We created detailed prototypes for each of the roadmap phases, developing more features to build in more automation to the product.

Long Term Plan
As a part of the partnership with PBC along side this particular project, we undertook a brand redesign. As these initiatives ran in parallel, it meant we had to collaborate closely with the different client and internal teams to make sure that the product evolved in step with the the revised branding.
